Character: Chino Tomoki
Series: Piece ~Kioku no Kakera~
Character Age: Mid 20s
Job: Camp Reporter
Canon: Men have been found mysteriously petrified and shattered. The only connection the deaths appear to have is the "Woman of Gorgon," an unknown dark-haired person with purple eyes and dressed in white. Chino Tomoki is a reporter for a small magazine company. Ever since the death of his girlfriend, Tomoki's life has been a downward spiral. When word gets to him about the Woman of Gorgon, he finds himself investigating the murders, noticing the similarities between them and his lover's death. With the help of a freelance photographer name Rei, he begins to unlock the mystery behind the unusual events.

Tomoki is an intelligent and talented reporter who knows how use his connections and skills to get the information he needs. He’s analytic, observant, and his determination has him acting more like a detective then a reporter. However, due to his emotional investment, Tomoki can also be stubborn and easily gets angry. While he’s surrounded by people who genuinely care for him, he keeps his feelings guarded. He does appreciate them and their help but he can’t help but draw away. Overall, Tomoki is nothing more than your average guy with ‘special circumstances.'

Tell us about yourself in a few words.
Chino Tomoki, magazine reporter. A lot of the stories I write aren't interesting, mostly rumors my editor hears about and sends me out to investigate. I used to take on dangerous jobs and while they weren't worth the risk on my life, I had my reasons.

Why are you joining our happy community?
It's strange. I got a letter congratulating me on my new job at Camp for Unaccredited Detectives. I don't remember applying. Sure the pay for my current job isn't the greatest but I'm managing perfectly fine. However, when my editor found out, he told me to go for it, said I can gain experience and learn something new here. I have to admit, working in a different country sounds interesting.

Why are you a valuable asset to this camp?
I did some research on this place. Stephan Debussey, Director Elizabeth Sayre’s fiancee, was murdered. There's no hint on a suspect nor why or how. Elizabeth has even taken matters into her own hands and trying to solve the case herself.

I plan to write a story about this, maybe I can help Elizabeth find a lead. After all, I can empathize with her. I know what it's like to not know exactly what happened to someone you care for deeply. To completely forget about doing the things the right way because not only does it take longer but you're not really told everything. Usually, it's the best way to go. It's how I finally turned around my last case.

Have you committed any crimes you were or should have been convicted from?
Yes and no? It's a long story involving people turning into stone and loss of memory. Also, it really doesn’t count if you’re being physically controlled, but that’s really none of your business. Are we quite done here?

How would you deal with someone falling apart on you?
Apparently, we're not. I’m not going to answer this. None of this has anything to do with my--

We hear you have experience dealing with rigid people. Is there any tips you can give us?
--I don't know what sick joke you're playing but I don't appreciate your twisted sense of humor. I’m not here to deal with your ‘stiff’ problem. You handle that on your own.
