Nothing has ever broken me like you did
The party camp threw was still very much going on despite it being past midnight. However, Tomoki quickly got bored. He conversed with several people and the rooster-head managed to keep him entertained for a while before he lost him to the temptation of alcohol. With nothing else to do and Rei not there, Tomoki thought it was best to call it a night.
Hands in his pockets, Tomoki made his way back to the cabin, the majority of camp mostly quiet, either due to people being asleep or at the party. The cool breeze he would feel ever now and then was refreshing, a nice break from the muggy nights the place had for the past couple of days. As he approached the river, Tomoki picked up the sound of someone singing. It was a tone he recognized, and there were only two people he knew with that tone. He headed in the direction of the singing and the closer he got, the more it became clear who it was.
Kane.
It was a relief for Tomoki as it wasn't the other person he thought of. Though, Yuu being up at this time would be impossible as the others make sure he goes to sleep on time. There is also the fact that while Yuu might sing off-tone here and there, he wouldn't sing, what it sounds like, a love song. Taking in the state of the humanoid and the empty pack of Asahi beer, it was easy to see that Kane was a lightweight.
What Tomoki wanted to know was why Kane was here, drinking by himself. The reporter clearly remembers the other telling him that drinking alcohol once was enough, and he wouldn't do it again.
It tastes funny, and I don't like the slight burn that comes after sometimes.
The other thing was that not long ago, he was having a good time with Hina. In the few seconds, he caught of the two, there was nothing that indicated something bad was going to happen, enough to cause the young Sazer to drink. Tomoki moved closer to Kane and at hearing his footsteps, Kane turned to look at him, an angry pout on his face.
"What are you doing here?" He asked in between hiccups, voice slurred, and looking completely wasted. He was in far worst state than Tomoki thought. "You dumped me, baka!"
Confusion was written on his face, not sure what the other was talking about and before he could even ask, Kane was already blurting out more.
"Baaaaaakaaaaaa! Why are you letting me go? Why, why, why? Stop making decisions for me! I'm a big boy!"
Tomoki rubbed his forehead, feeling the signs of an oncoming headache. That was enough to tell him this was his idiotic lookalike's fault.
Only him.
With a sigh and some reluctance, the reporter closed the gap between him and Kane, gently taking a hold of his arms to lift him up on his feet, an action immediately disapproved by the Sazer.
"Don't touch me!" Kane furiously removed himself from Tomoki's hold, stumbling backwards and almost falling. "You!" He pointed, finger swaying. "Youuuuuu dressing nicely and...and looking handsome doesn't mean I'll forgive you easily. No, no, no! I won't! I won't get hurt again!"
He was being overdramatic, and the reporter wanted to tell the humanoid that he wasn't Eiji yet doing so would be pointless. Kane was far too gone for logic to work on him. Tomoki decided to risk it again and took one of Kane's arms, putting it around his shoulder. So far, no resistance and that was a good sign for Tomoki to continue, wrapping his around the humanoid's back. He carefully led Kane back to his cabin, the other putting most of his weight on him. He didn't put up a fight or pushed Tomoki away at all during the walk, and whether it was due to being too tired or no longer caring, it didn't matter to Tomoki why as long as he put the humanoid in bed and this was over and done with no more issues. However, things took an unexpected turn.
Getting him inside the cabin without disturbing the others, if they weren't at the party but asleep, was a bit of a problem. Maneuvering in the dark, avoiding bumping into anything while carrying someone who can barely walk straight for more than two steps was not easy. Keeping him quiet was something else Tomoki was worried about but luckily, Kane had stuck to mumbling incoherent things and nothing more, and once they got to his room, Tomoki was ready to put Kane on his bed until he unexpectedly found himself on it instead, arms pinned and the humanoid above him.
Tomoki stared at Kane wide-eyed and in shock. "What are you doing?"
"This is why you're letting me go, right? Because things like this won't happen, right? If we continue this, I won't lose you, right? Even though it's wrong, you'll still be here, right?"
There was desperation in both his expression and voice. He really should be fighting this, but it was hard when Kane was giving him his infamous pout and the way his eyes were tearing up. Eiji meant a lot to him and wanting to do something that was wrong, knowing full well it was, at the cost of angering Ankh and possibly upsetting Hina was proof of that. Nevertheless, Tomoki felt something off about this entire thing like it could all probably be a misunderstanding and he didn't really know what his idiotic lookalike did. He knew he shouldn't get involved and let the two resolve this entire thing themselves, but Tomoki felt someone should smack some sense into Eiji, and it definitely won't be Kane nor anyone else if the humanoid keeps it to himself, telling no one.
"Kane-mphf!!!"
The attack on his lips came out of nowhere...okay, not really. It was too be expected at least, the young boy being slightly aggressive in this messy kiss, tongue forcing its way in and Tomoki could taste the beer Kane drank mixed with a faint hint of something sweet, most likely whatever he ate at the party. Fighting the strength he didn't know the other had, Tomoki flipped their positions, successfully breaking the kiss while doing so. He was ready to scold Kane when he noticed that he fell asleep. Tomoki gawked at the fact the humanoid just passed out like that, not sure what to think of this. The headache finally hitting him.
I need to get out of here.
Preparing to leave, Tomoki only managed to get off Kane before he was grabbed and brought back down on the bed, the Sazer snuggling right up against him, and any attempts to escape was met with a whine. So, he gave up and fished his phone from his pocket to message Rei, sleeping overtaking him afterwards.

Won't be coming back tonight. Sleeping somewhere else. Will explain when I return.
